A Symphonic Symposium, WMS Vienna 2025
This collaboration is a clear marker of Feral’s shift towards a more agency-based offering, embedding ourselves deeper within long-term client teams and delivering a joined-up service across strategy, production, on-site productions and post-event output.
The World Muscle Society is an international organisation dedicated to advancing research, diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular diseases. Its annual Congress brings together clinicians, researchers, industry partners and early-career specialists from across the globe, creating a uniquely collaborative and scientifically rigorous environment.
In October 2025, Feral was commissioned to deliver comprehensive coverage of the WMS Annual Congress in Vienna, hosted at the Austria Center Vienna. Across six days, the Congress combined a pre-Congress teaching course, plenary sessions, industry symposia, poster presentations, regional network events and social gatherings, alongside key milestone moments including the Society’s 30th anniversary celebrations and the formal handover to the 2026 host city.
A standout moment of the week was the World Muscle Society’s 30th Opening Ceremony celebration. Drawing on Feral’s extensive live sport and broadcast production experience, our team produced and delivered the full stage show, coordinating both the live stage elements and the livestream output. The ceremony featured a very special demonstration by the Austrian E-Powerchair Football Team, creating a powerful and memorable moment that reflected both the inclusivity and the spirit of the Society. This live production capability marked a further evolution in our role with WMS, extending beyond content capture into full-scale live event delivery. Watch the days highlights here.
Our team worked closely with the WMS, faculty and partners to ensure coverage that was both scientifically sensitive and highly usable across communications, education and future promotion. Vienna also marked Feral’s second consecutive Congress with the World Muscle Society, allowing both teams to build on the foundations established the previous year. This continuity brought clear benefits on both sides, from shared expectations and refined workflows to a deeper understanding of WMS’s culture, priorities and audience. For WMS, this meant smoother delivery, clearer communication and more strategically aligned outputs; for Feral, it enabled a more proactive approach, anticipating key moments, shaping narratives in advance and adding value well beyond traditional event documentation.
Drawing directly from the client’s needs, Feral delivered a high-volume, multi-layered content package designed to support the WMS during the event and long after it concluded. This broad spectrum of content ranged from daily and weekly highlights, social edits and multi-camera panel talks, through to event guides and promotional films, spanning subjects from the new Executive Board to the Hiroshima 2026 Welcome Film.

Alongside film and video output, photography was a central pillar of the delivery across the week, supplying stills that captured scientific, social and ceremonial moments. This included portrait photography for 142 delegates, delivered directly to individuals, an offer that once again proved particularly popular and valued, as well as dedicated portrait sessions, Executive Board imagery, team photographs and prize-winner coverage. Feedback from the WMS confirmed satisfaction not only with the quality of imagery but with the efficiency and clarity of the workflow, including metadata handling and delivery structure.
By operating as an integrated agency partner, Feral was able to deliver consistent, narrative-led content across six intensive Congress days, provide tangible individual value to delegates through professional portrait photography, build a substantial archive of reusable assets for the WMS communications, and support wider engagement through social-first content designed as long-term content capital. This approach reflects our evolving role with the WMS, moving beyond simple event documentation towards strategic content delivery that supports the Society’s goals year-round.

With Vienna successfully delivered, we are already looking forward to discussions around the the WMS 2026 in Hiroshima, Japan. As the partnership continues to develop, we are excited to build on the foundations established over recent years and support the World Muscle Society as it takes its global Congress to Japan for only the second time on the Society’s 30 year history.
